Saving Lives
In the case of the NHS system they needed an interim system until the new National system was implemented. It was designed to track patients and theatre appointments and to have a readily available list of forthcoming operations which is available to the Consultants and management alike.
This is expected to reduce “double booked” operations and enable In-patient doctors to allocate patients to Consultants electronically, based on the current workload.
The overall intention was to meet the timetables laid down by the government and optimise staff utilisation.
NHS – In Patients system
- Automatic In-patient import system from two legacy booking-in systems (Chase Farm & Barnet)
- Updating facilities for all subsequent departments, including Consultants, Wards, Theatres and Hospital Management. This solution was used to drive their “Dashboard” system of targeted appointments
- All data was extracted from an Oracle intermediate data store and updated into a SQL database.
